6 - M. A. Aziz Stadium/Niaz Stadium, Chattogram (82)

  • First Test - November 15, 2001 - Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe

  • Last Test - January 6, 2005 - Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe

Friday, October 31, 2025 - We drove from Bogra back to Dhaka to catch my 2pm flight to Chittagong (now officially known as "Chattogram" since 2018) . I arrived in Chittagong at around 4pm and headed straight to my hotel, Radisson Blu - Chattogram Bay View, which is across the street from the M.A. Aziz Stadium. After checking in and dropping off my bags, I was to meet up with Journalist, Muhammed Jubair who was the first person to reach out to me for this Bangladesh trip. However, I went the opposite direction (left turn) and actually found myself in the stadium with Jubair there waiting for me at the Stadium entrance which was on the other side of the ground.. lol. After a couple of phone calls and messages, I eventually found my way to the entrance and then was able to go on the field.

This stadium is the original Chittagong Stadium which subsequently gave way to the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium (BSFLMRCS) .. about 15 minutes away. This is also the stadium where Bangladesh won its first test in January 2005, which also happened to be the last test match on this ground.
